"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns." - George Eliot

Fall is my favorite season.

I recognize that it's an unusual choice; people generally choose spring or summer because of the warm weather and general lack of school.

Not me.

I love fall. There's just something about it. The air always seems so fresh and clean and crisp. I recognize that everything is technically dying, but I always feel more hopeful and excited about everything in autumn. I don't know, it just feels like I can make a fresh start and maybe, just maybe, something exciting and wonderful will happen to me this year.

I get so excited about fall that I start looking forward to the end of summer and the return of school around July 15. That's right, I'm actually counting down the weeks to the end of summer. I may be retarded.

I love Halloween too. Not the really scary stuff, but I really like stuff about witches and movies like Sleepy Hollow. I like to decorate and carve pumpkins (after someone else has gotten all the gunk out of course). I even have a fall/Halloween playlist on my iTunes.

However, I got a little too excited today and started listening to Halloween music early.

Except that I'm so awesome, I scared myself listening to it.

Since Anna and I have been separated due to summer activities, here's a quote from my mom to end today's post: Me: "Are y'all going to be home for supper?" Mom: "I don't know-- you thin?" I think it may have been an ass-backwards way of asking if I was so hungry that I'd started dropping pounds. Feel free to draw your own conclusions here.
